I love shoes. Let me say that again so you understand: I LOVE SHOES. But not just any shoes. I love black designer heels with red soles (Louboutin) and vintage inspired leather pumps and warm cozy nubuck boots with shearling liners. I don’t have 400 pairs of shoes because I grew up in Montana where you need one pair of heels like a hole in the head, let alone 400 pairs of $600.00 shoes. Then there’s the price issue. I simply don’t have $600 for a pair of shoes (yet). Yes, if I had it, I would buy them.
I never realized, consciously, how much I loved shoes until I called Tim one day, telling him that I was frustrated enough to steal a sports car and drive to area 51 in order to find intelligent life on Earth. His response was. “Oh, sweetie. You should go look at some shoes.” Instead of feeling patronized, I felt happy that he understood me. Shoes are my ice cream and kittens on a bad day. I don’t even have to buy them. Just try them on and drool a little so I have something nice to dream about.
Today is a shoe day.
Or a handbag day. I have 4 purses, one that I use regularly. It’s less than most normal women have, Dad, so stop thinking that. I don’t really like having to transfer my wallet, keys, key cards, lipstick, loose change, and linty mints to a different purse, so I don’t own very many. Plus, again the price tag. Most of all, the price tag. Chloe (my muse) bags run upwards of $2400.00. I only paid a little more than that for my car. You see the dilemma. But it doesn’t mean a girl can’t appreciate good design. I came across great design today on Etsy, my handmade goodness inpiration.
